Animals and Pets
Animals - Animals are a major group of mostly multicellular, eukaryotic organisms of the kingdom Animalia or Metazoa. Animals have several characteristics that set them apart from other living things. Animals can mainly be divided into two main groups, the invertebrates, and the vertebrates.
Animal puzzles give you the opportunity to learn about these amazing creatures while exercising your mental capacities. Animals are heterotrophs, which means they rely on other organisms to obtain their nourishment. Animals range in size from microscopic animals known as plankton to the massive blue whale. Animals are thought to have evolved from flagellate protozoa and the oldest animal fossils date back 600 million years, to the latter part of the Precambrian.
Pets - People buy and catch animals to keep as pets. Many of the people who have animals as pets do not know how to care for them. Pets decrease our blood pressure, our cholesterol and reduce heart disease. Pets, particularly ones like reptiles, amphibians, and fish, need special equipment, heat, lights, and food in order for them to be healthy and live.
Studies have demonstrated that a reasonable percentage of pet owners who allow their pets in bed have sleep problems. If you're looking for some love in your life, take a look at some of the pets who are awaiting a loving family of their own.
